Russians were promised visa-free travel with six other countries in the Middle East and Asia
The list includes Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Malaysia and Myanmar.
Russian citizens are again promised a speedy and complete cancellation of visas with several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Malaysia and Myanmar. Maxim Reshetnikov, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development, said at the Travel forum that they intend to sign a number of agreements by the end of this year. Despite the fact that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is responsible for visa issues, the Ministry of Economic Development submitted its proposals on visa-free travel with these countries last year, with the exception of Myanmar. The Foreign Ministry also confirmed the holding of negotiations, but so far without specifics on countries and dates.
Many tourists noted that a visa is not required to travel to some of the mentioned countries. For example, a stay of 14 days is allowed in Oman, and 30 days in Malaysia and Myanmar. However, for some countries, the cost of visas remains valid: entry to Bahrain will cost $ 15 (a visa is issued on arrival and provides for a one–month stay), to Kuwait – $ 100, to Saudi Arabia – $ 105. Due to the large flow of pilgrims from Russia to Saudi Arabia and further investments in tourism development, we can expect an increase in the number of tourists to this country.
